Human-Centered Development: From Language Training to Mental Health Support, Backed by Over 15 Years of Experience

Peter Togyi

L&D (Learning & Development) Professional | Certified Mental Health Helper

Successful, resilient companies are built on balanced employees. My professional mission is to help organizations foster a supportive environment where colleagues not only grow professionally, but also maintain their mental equilibrium.

How did the journey lead from corporate training to mental wellbeing?

My professional path began in 2008 after graduating with a degree in International Relations. Shortly after, I moved to Dublin, Ireland, to master English in a native environment. Upon returning, I started teaching English—initially privately, and soon, driven by positive feedback and recommendations, I took on an increasing number of corporate engagements. This naturally led me to become a full-time independent professional and a dedicated corporate training partner.

Throughout my work, I have always been guided by patience, acceptance, and a client-centered mindset. Over the years, I observed a distinct and vital pattern: during the sessions, a profound atmosphere of trust developed, allowing colleagues to feel genuinely safe. They opened up, increasingly sharing workplace challenges, stressors, and personal difficulties.

WellbeingChats

Driven by a desire to understand these dynamics more deeply, I turned toward psychology. To provide this supportive role at the highest professional standard, I completed the postgraduate Mental Health Helper program at Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church.

This is how the concept of WellbeingChats emerged. I directly translated these psychological and mental wellbeing tools into corporate practice. Alongside language training, and in close collaboration with HR departments, I began delivering dedicated team-building sessions and wellbeing workshops. The focused, 1-on-1 mental health consultations delivered such positive, tangible results that several partner companies recognized the true power of proactive prevention. As a result, they integrated regular mental health support into their employee benefits package. This conscious corporate choice demonstrably enhances employee wellbeing and job satisfaction, improves the workplace atmosphere and team dynamics, and substantially mitigates turnover and burnout risks.

Malta

I have been based in Malta since 2022, operating actively as an independent professional. I deliver both online and in-person training alongside continuous corporate mental health support for my partners.

My goal is to help forward-thinking HR and business leaders recognize that providing continuous mental wellbeing support is no longer an optional perk—it is an indispensable driver of corporate performance and employee retention.
